𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 ‘𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐛𝐲𝐞’ 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐠 𝐇𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠
Meet the scholars. This 4-month-old stray dog lived on the streets of New Orleans until a Good Samaritan took him in. However, circumstances forced the man to make a difficult decision: find a new home for the adorable puppy, or lose his own.
Their story has touched many hearts lately — and for good reason.
“This little guy was found to be a stray dog and this man who is also a school teacher in New Orleans took this sweet little boy home to care for him,” Villalobos Rescue said in a Facebook post. But it didn’t last long because when his landlord found out, he told him to get rid of the puppy.”
The man did what he thought was best for the sweet pit bull – he went to the rescue in Clareburn and waited for someone to arrive so he could explain the unfortunate situation. Fortunately, they understood and stepped in to help.

“A new belief in human nature begins to take hold,” the post said. “The paperwork was filled out and we assured the Good Samaritan teacher that the pup was taken care of.”
The men beg for a moment to say goodbye, but no one is prepared for the scholar’s lovely response.
“Hearts are melting, tears are falling, a little messy tail ‘boom boom boom boom boom boom boom, boom boom boom’,” the post said. “We learned something today: not all heroes wear capes. We realized that somewhere in a city of crime and helplessness, he stood at the head of a classroom, and his only ‘weapon’ is his knowledge.”
Rescuers named the dog Scholar in honor of the teacher who cared so much for him.
“We hope that together their stories will change lives, enrich minds, and together teach us that, even if just for a moment, we can make a difference,” the post said.
Currently, Scholar is growing with a caring rescuer and continues to thrive.
“He’s done a great job,” Rescue founder Tia Torres told The Dodo. “There are many factors involved in making such a momentous decision, and while our followers may be looking for that happy ending, the scholar’s story will continue on his own.”
Soon, Scholar will transition to The Pet Pack Rescue Initiative, which is run by teachers. His story isn’t over — it’s just beginning.
“As a former teacher myself, it made me feel that way,” Torres said. “We believe that [that rescue] The perfect next step in Scholar’s ‘life lessons’ and his journey to find him forever home. “
