Abandoning a dog who has special needs is a really low thing to do , owners should know that attaching a note to the pet , does not make the gesture less cruel.

In the streets of Salta , Argentina, a poor paralyzed dog could be seen on the streets without food or water , Lunita was the dog’s name she was a medium sized, disabled, dog , that was abandoned by her owner on May , 2014.

The condition the dog was in when a dog – grooming employe found her was heartbreaking to witness, Lunita was face down to the sidewalk , her hind legs attached to a dilapidated wheelchair, and a note near her telling her name , age and how the owner couldn’t keep her anymore.

Witnessing how much help this dog needed the employe contacted LUBA Salta a rescue dog organization.

Organization volunteers showed up and took the poor dog into their shelter, the dog was staying in a foster home and the shelter decided to share her story on social media praying that someone would be kind enough to want to adopt her.

But time passed and nothing was happening , till a usa family showed interest to welcome poor Lunita into their home, there was a fundraising launch to help pay Lunitas expenses to the states.

Sadly, things didn’t look up for the poor dog on the new family either , since they didn’t know how to give her the proper care, her fragile state needed.

While staying with the family Lunita developed a very serious staphylococcal infection from a mite infested bed.

The new tragedy , worsened Lunitas condition , her breathing was getting worse every day , and a new family stepped in to take her under their care. Lunita lost all her hair from the waist down, including the tail, due to urine scalding, scabies , and infections.

She used to scream every time a caretaker would try to wipe her bottom and private area , since a serious urinary tract infection affected her skin so much, and her low weight was concerning too , the poor dog was weighing only 35 pounds.

It took a long and hard medical treatment to heal the poor dog, but finally she was recovered. After that Lunitas life was a happy one , she traveled a lot with her new family , saw the snow for the first time , and made a lot of friends.

Lunita had her birthday on 15 June 2018 she turned 11 , and that was one of the best days of her life , seeing all her family their friends and even a lot of other dogs coming to celebrate with her , our little dogs heart was filled with love.

Not long after that happy day , Lunitas condition worsened again and she had to be admitted to ICU , and once again she was in a battle for her life. Her condition was getting worse , and everytime they took off the oxygen the dog’s tongue would turn blue.

Heartbroken her family decided it was time for Lunita to rest in peace , she spent her last days surrounded by people she loved the most.

“I will never forget her and how much she meant to me,” Lunita’s mom shared on Facebook. “She changed my life forever. I loved her so much.”

Thank you to the Lunitas family , that made her last year in earth being a happy and filled with love one.
