Dog Hired At The Post Office Is Given The Most Adorable Role Ever - 107

Jax, an adorable black dog with a narrow white stripe on his chest, is a big fish in a little pond.

Living in the small village of Portree, which is located on the Scottish Island of Skye, Jax is know for his important job in a hole-in-the-wall post office that’s managed by his human, Ray Chandler.

You see, the happy-go-lucky dog has a very specific role: he’s the post office’s Official Stamp Licker! He even has his very own sign:

“Jax absolutely loves it,” Chandler said in a story by The Dodo. “He’ll actually lick your stamps.”

Every day, patrons look forward to seeing the pup, who happily greets them and helps them with their parcels. In fact, he’s so enthusiastic about his position, he sometimes licks stamps a little too hard – and accidentally swallows them!

According Chandler, this occasional blunder means that stamp-licking services are offered at the “customer’s risk.”

But most people are willing to overlook any of the eager dog’s honest mistakes… after all, he just wants to help! And despite his silly snafus, the social pooch truly excels in the customer service department.

“He’s great to have around, because he becomes the focal point,” Chandler said in the story. “In Britain, everyone tends to talk about the weather, but in the office, people want to talk about Jax.

Some people come in just to say hello, or to bring him a treat; others want to give him hugs. He has become quite a character.”

In addition to accompanying his dad to work every day, Jax enjoys lots of outdoor time, including swimming and walks with his parents. After all, as Chandler explained to The Dodo, “He’s part of our family.”

If there were more canine employees at post offices, we may be more likely to turn off the computer and mail a letter once in awhile!
