The Texarkana Police Department is challenging the stereotype that all Pit bulls are vicious dogs when it posted an encounter one of their officers had when responding to a “vicious dog call”.
“Well, this didn’t go quite like we thought it would.
“After we got a vicious dog call this morning, Officer Travis Frost spotted the dog laying on someone’s front porch there. Travis said that he left the door of his patrol unit open so he could quickly jump back in if the dog was vicious and came after him.
The department later said that the dog named “Gold” had an implanted microchip but that the owner’s contact information was not current. Fortunately, Gold only had to spend the night at the shelter as his owner was located and came and picked up Gold the next morning.
